Layouts

We have a mixture of OO and N guage laouts with a variety of themes. If you would like to see one of these layouts at your exhibition please contact us.

Millig Yard - OO Gauge - 16ft x 2ft

Millig Yard is our latest layout. In OO guage it is our first fully DCC layout which along with the operation of the locos, also includes operating the points. The layout is a fictitious location and incorporates a maintenance shed for a single diesel loco with fueling point and sidings to stable locos.

At the opposite end of the layout is the Millig Yard Wagon works. A traverser aids getting the wagons into the sheds.

The centre of the layout focuses on some sidings for engineering wagons along with some marshalling lines for arrivals and departures.

A mainline runs alongside the depot, mainly with DMU's in operation.

Levenford - N Gauge - 28ft x 2.6ft

Levenford is an American themed layout. The trackplan is inspired from the North Clyde line between Dumbarton Central and Dalreoch. It compromises of a 4 platform mainline station with sidings. Across the viaduct is a smaller station for local stopping stations. The basic layout design is oval with 12 fiddleyards behind the backscene.

East King Street Gardens - OO Gauge - Retired

East King Street Gardens takes its name from one of our local streets and is based on the stretch of track through Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. It features 4 running lines with an array of Scottish passenger, freight and charter stock. It also boasts a model of the old signal box and the wonder footbridge that spans the lines. This layout has proved very popular and has appeared at several shows throughout Scotland with us.

Craigendoran - OO Gauge - Retired

Craigendorran Pier, as the name suggests, is based on the old pier at Craigendorran. The pier was scratch built by club members. The layout is based around the early 20th century and compromises of the main station with a line branching off along the pier.

The pier also had its own resident boat, 'Jeanie Deans'. This was built by one of our members, David Forrest.

Despite the layout now being dismantled, it still resides in our club room and 'Jeanie Deans' is proudly on display.
